Elder Board

Our Servant-Leaders

Art Baldwin puts people first, showing genuine interest and sincere care for his students, colleagues, family and friends. But his heart is biggest for those who’ve yet to encounter and experience the amazing love of Jesus Christ. An Elder since 2011, Art brings both depth and breadth to the position, having served in leadership for 25 years. Art and his wife, Marla, are the parents of three grown sons and the grandparents of 10.

Mark Hughes imparts wise and practical counsel to the Elder Board and has served as an elder since 2009. He leads the First Impressions ministry team, ensuring that newcomers are both welcomed and informed when they visit the church. Mark and his wife, Carla, have two daughters, Mara and Caitlin, and spend as much time as they can with a special little boy named Jaden.

Dan Renner has a contagious spirit of joy and brings more than a decade of leadership experience to his role as an elder. Having served on the Elder Board since 2000, Dan has helped shepherd Grace Fellowship through seasons of transition, growth and change. He and his wife, Debi, are the parents of Sarah and Daniel, and are actively involved in serving the youth.

Chris Smith shares his passion and heart for Christ in both his role as an elder and as leader of a Sunday morning home group. Chris has been an elder since 2008 and is the consummate "people person," sharing and caring for those who don’t know Jesus or are new Christians. His family includes wife Heidi and sons Justin, Tyler, Andy and Ryan.

Randy Surface has an enthusiasm for life, music, family and Godliness that transcends every generation. A pop culture aficionado and Bible student for life, Randy is a veritable knowledge hound, as well as gentle teacher and eager encourager. Although new to the role of elder, Randy is no stranger to leadership. He devotes hours each week to leading Grace’s praise band, rocking it out each week with his fellow band mates, including wife Sarah.

Bob Widlicka offers a pragmatic and analytic point of view and has served as an elder for over 6 years. As a long-time leader at Grace, Bob has played a pivotal role in the growth of the church and has touched numerous ministries, including leading Sunday school classes, co-leading a Home Group and playing in the 3-on-3 basketball league. Bob and his wife, Robin, are the parents of three young adults, Ben, Andrew and Paul.
